Tool - Flood (Drum Cover)

For recording I used a Zoom H8 recorder.
Microphones:
Audio-Technica MB 5K Mic set, and on the snare I used a Shure PGA56
As for the audio processing part, I used some EQ, Compression, Panning and reverb.
I use DaVinci Resolve for video and audio processing.
Gear:

Pearl Maters limited MHX shell-set (Mahagony shells with maple re-rings)

Pearl Masters MMP 14x6,5 snare in Purple Metallic finish.

I’m so intrigued about the hi hat in the center of the kit. I didn’t see any comments on that but do any drummers know how that works? I see the pedal but what does the rest of it look like?

Right now I am at the “anyone but you” phase of my life… It’s not really working out too bad… I’ve managed to eat, write a lot of song lyrics… I don’t have a guitar with me… But at the end of the day once in a while I do get to appreciate watching a video like this… It’s pretty amazing.

Thanks so much for like and sub! On the 10" and 12" I use Ambassador X coated, On the 14" and 16" I use Emperor coated on top. (Evans G1 on the bottom side for both rack and floor toms)
@markjozsa I love Tool as well btw. And thanks for the fast response. I may have to check those out. I'm on the market now for some new tom heads. Just got a new snare head in the Evans Genera Dry Coated head. Thx again,✌️ ☮️ 🕊
@@TheyCallMeNoName34 np man! 😄 Genera dry is a really good snare head, good choice! As for the Remos I mentioned, good sounding heads, but coating comes off relatively fast. I'm no hard hitter as you can see but it took cca 10 shows and some practicing for the coating to come off. I'm trying out Aquarian response II heads right now, they are durable, and sound good!
@markjozsa nice looking out man. I'll look into those as well. I've heard many good things about the Aquarian line. You're making my day, dude. In the Aquarian response 2 are you trying the coated still on those or the clears?
@@TheyCallMeNoName34 thanks dude! I have clear and coated as well, I like them both, as for live shows I prefer clear over coated, but for other situations coated is nice as well. I've been using coated on my home kit for like 5 months and I can barely see stick marks. Durable as hell. No bad options just preference.

I have seen TOOL twice now, and I still can’t just simply say I went to a life gig… When ever someone asks me how was it, my honest answer is always; “Well, it’s complicated. It’s like asking someone, “- How do you explain the origins of the Universe?”. ❤️
Why does the sound sound so much different on stage as opposed to being in the crowd?
Because the musicians are behind the front speakers. The sound is so much different on stage. They either have in-ear monitors or have monitors on the floor, and each individual has his own mix in the monitor (what he wants to hear).

@@t.j.5574 that's right! There are sound guys who do the mixing for the audience and there sound guys who make the sound for the musicians on stage.
